Jeffus & Williams strives to stay on the cutting edge, and was the first to install a Cat5 network in Alaska for the Permanent Fund Corp. in the fall of 1993. Jeffus & Williams was also a pioneer in LAN based VoIP telephony, installing the first NBX telephone system in Alaska in September of 1998 and has installed numerous NBX phone systems for companies across Southeast Alaska including Goldbelt, Inc, Princess Tours, Bartlett Regional Hospital, KTKN Radio in Ketchikan, and White Pass & Yukon Railroad in Skagway. In 2005, Jeffus & Williams was contracted to provide telephone, networking, and Internet services for Coeur Alaska's Kensington Gold Mine. Meeting Coeur's needs required new levels of innovation which resulted in the creation of a new company, Rainforest Telecom, Inc., to provide Internet and telephone services to companies across Southeast Alaska.
